How to check RAM specification?

To check the supported memory models please refer to hardware specifications or compatibility report.

Hardware specifications

Input the model name on the top right corner’s search bar at MSI official website

For example: input MPG Z390M GAMING EDGE AC in the [Search] icon, press [Enter] key to find the matching result.

Click on the [Specifications] button down below the product name

Click on [DETAIL] tab

Check the Memory supported specifications in the section of [MEMORY]

For example, the mainboard * MPG Z390M GAMING EDGE AC with 4 DDR4 slots for up to 128GB, and support DDR4 4400(OC)/4300(OC)/4266(OC)/ 4200(OC)/4133(OC)/4000(OC)/3866(OC)/3733(OC)/3600(OC)/3466(OC)/3400(OC)/3333(OC)/3300(OC)/3200(OC)/ 3000(OC) / 2800(OC)/ 2666/ 2400/ 2133 MHz;

Supports dual channel mode;
Supports non-ecc, un-buffered memory;
Supports Intel® Extreme Memory Profile (XMP)

Noted: In the case that the memory is not overclocked, it can support the maximum pulse at 2666MHz, and the maximum pulse at 4400MHz in the case of overclocked. Whether it can be achieved or not will be affected by the compatibility and constitution of memory. It is suggested to choose the memory in the [memory support report]

If CPU is i5/i7/i9 processor, please click [memory by i5/i7/i9]. If CPU is i3/ Pentium/Celeron series processor, please click [memory by i3/other]. For example, the processor model used here is i9-9900k,so select [Memory by i5/i7/i9]

If the model and specification of the memory are completely consistent with the information in the compatibility list, it means that the memory is compatible with MPG Z390M GAMING EDG AC. If the information of the memory used is not found in the compatibility list, it does not mean that it is incompatible, but it means that the memory has not been tested by the authorities and the compatibility cannot be ensured.

「SPD Speed」Basic frequency of memory

「RAM Speed」Memory highest frequency

「Support Speed」Stable operating frequency

「Chipset」Indicates memory chipset’s brand name

「Voltage」Memory working Voltage

「Side」It represents sides of the memory，「SINGLE」 is single-sided memory，「DUAL」 is dual-sided memory

「Size」It represents memory capacity,「1/2/4 DIMM」represents the number of memory tests;「1」if it is checked, it means the single memory test is passed;「2」if it is checked, it means the memory test of two sets of strips passes「4」if it checked, it indicates that the memory test of four bars is passed.
