Please follow the instructions below to update BIOS with M-Flash.
Before you start the process make sure you have:
A formated (FAT32) USB flash drive
Note: USB flash capacity over 64G will not be supported with FAT32, please format in NTFS
A PC with internet access
A standard power charger
How to format a USB flash drive to FAT32
Note: All of the data will be wiped when performing the disk formatting, please backup your data before this operation.
Plug in the USB flash drive, open a folder and find [This PC], right-click on the USB flash drive and select [Format]
Select "FAT32 or NTFS" under File system→ go "start" to begin
How to create a BIOS booting flash drive
Go to MSI official website, search your motherboard and download the latest BIOS.
For example: MPG Z390M GAMING EDG AC, input the product name on the top right search bar, press [Enter]
The matching result for “MPG Z390M GAMING EDG AC” will show up, select [Download] to enter download section.
Find the required BIOS file, and click on the arrow pointing down icon to download.
Right-click on the downloaded file and select [Extract All] to unzip the compressed folder
Click [Extract]
Copy the file to the root folder of the USB flash drive. Once complete this step, the bootable BIOS device has been created successfully
Example: Copy the entire [7B50v15] folder, and drag it to the root folder of the USB flash drive. Please do not put the file to any other folder in the USB disk to avoid any abnormality caused by reading.
Please re-boot your machine to proceed.
Update BIOS
Upon powering on the PC, please start hitting the [Del] key continuously to enter the BIOS menu, select [M-FLASH] to enter BIOS update environment
Select [Yes], to enter M-FLASH interface
Select the USB flash drive you have created and choose the BIOS file.
For Example: Choose file version [7B50v15]
Click on the BIOS file and press [Enter] key
For example: Choose [E7B50IMS.150]
Select [Yes] to start the BIOS update process
Noted: Do not power off or restart system during BIOS updates process. Also, do not remove the USB flash drive at all times
After completing the session, the system will restart automatically. Keep tapping [Del] delete key to enter BIOS menu again and confirm the BIOS version.
